SEO services for a small business fix what stops Google from ranking your site, add the pages your customers search for and earn links from real websites, all reported as calls and form leads. Choose a provider that can put in writing what it will do in the first 90 days, who will do it and how it will show you leads.
By Khalid Hossen, Founder and CEO, about VentCube.
Our SEO services for small business owners are built around one question: did search bring you more calls, form leads and booked jobs this month?
If you’re comparing an SEO company for a small business, two things make us easy to judge. You get the price in writing before you start, and every report leads with leads, not vanity numbers. You can see exactly what you’re paying for.
What do our small business SEO services include?
Our small business SEO service gives you professional SEO services on a small business budget: one monthly program that covers your site, your content and your links. Each month we put the work where it is most likely to bring in leads, in this order: fix, improve, then grow.
| Deliverable | What we do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword research and mapping | Find what customers search at each stage, from “how much does a new roof cost” to “roof repair near me”, and match each search to one page | Stops your pages competing with each other and shows which pages are missing |
| Technical SEO | Check crawling, indexing, speed, mobile use, redirects and schema, then fix what blocks rankings | New content won’t help on a site Google can’t read |
| On-page SEO | Update titles, headings, copy, internal links and images so each page answers one search clearly | On sites that were never optimized, this is often where the first gains come from |
| Content and copywriting | Write service pages, area pages and articles in your voice, each with a clear next step | Pages that answer real questions get found and get calls |
| Link building | Earn links from suppliers, partners, associations, trade directories and local press | Links from real sites are a long-term ranking signal |
| Local SEO | Google Business Profile, reviews and listings | For local searches, the map pack sits above the regular results |
| Reporting | Calls, forms, rankings and traffic from search, plus a log of the work done | You can see what you paid for and what it brought in |
Bigger site problems have their own page: technical SEO services.
Which type of SEO do you need: local, national, ecommerce or technical?
If your customers are in set towns, start with local SEO; if you sell across a region or the whole US, start with content and links; if you sell products online, start with ecommerce SEO; and if pages are missing from Google or the site just moved, start with technical SEO. Most small businesses need a mix, but one type usually matters most, so start with the row that best describes you.
| Your situation | Start with | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|
| You serve customers in set towns or a service area | Local SEO | Local SEO services |
| You sell services across a state, region or the whole US | National SEO: content and links | This page |
| You sell products online | Ecommerce SEO | Ecommerce SEO services |
| Your site is slow, pages are missing from Google, or you just moved or redesigned the site | Technical SEO | Technical SEO services |
| You’re not sure | A free audit | Free SEO audit |
A store with thousands of products often needs technical work before anything else. The audit tells us which one applies to you, and we’ll say so even if the answer is a smaller job than you expected.
How do you choose an SEO company for a small business?
Choose the SEO company that can explain, in writing, what it will do in the first 90 days, who will do it, what you get each month and how it will show you leads. Here are three questions to ask any provider.
- Who does the work, and will I meet them?
- How will you track calls and forms? We set up call and form tracking in the first two weeks, before we change anything, so there is a starting point to measure against.
- Do I own the content, the accounts and the data if I leave?
Two red flags matter most: a guaranteed ranking (Google says no one can guarantee a number one spot) and links sold by the hundred. See the full list of red flags in an SEO quote in our pricing guide.
What do our SEO packages and pricing look like?
After a free audit, we recommend a monthly plan and tell you the price before you start. Month to month, 30 day notice. We recommend 3 months for SEO, but you can leave any month.
VentCube is a digital marketing agency for service businesses, founded in 2018, that runs SEO, Google Ads and web design; its team of 10+ people has served 350+ clients.
A small or local business usually needs the SEO basics done well. A business in a competitive market may need content and links running together. The audit tells us which one you are, and the plan follows from that.
More on who we are.
How do we write pages that rank and convert?
We start with what your customers ask on the phone, then write pages that answer it in plain words. A page that ranks but doesn’t get calls hasn’t done its job.
Every service page we write covers:
- What you do, in the words customers use, not trade jargon.
- Where you work, with the towns or regions you actually serve.
- What it costs, or how pricing works. Customers want a range before they call.
- Why you, using real details: licenses, warranties, how you handle a job.
- How to book, with one clear next step: call, book or fill out a form.
We ask you for the details only you know, because pages built on real experience are more useful than generic copy. Clear answers near the top of each section also make a page easier for Google and AI tools to quote. Our content optimization guide explains the approach in more detail.
How do we build links (honestly)?
We build links the slow, honest way: by giving real websites a reason to link to you. We don’t buy link packages and we don’t use private blog networks (PBNs).
Google’s spam policies list buying or selling links for ranking purposes as link spam, and sites that do it can lose rankings. So we focus on:
- Suppliers, manufacturers and partners who list the businesses they work with.
- Trade associations, chambers of commerce and real industry directories.
- Local sponsorships, events and community groups.
- Useful stories and data pitched to local and trade press.
This takes longer than buying links. It also doesn’t put your site at risk. Our off-page SEO guide covers what works and what to avoid.
What happens in our first 90 days?
The first 90 days are about fixing the foundations and shipping the highest-impact pages. Here is the usual order.
- Week 1: access and audit. We get access to Search Console, Analytics, your site and your Google Business Profile, then review your site, rankings, links and top competitors.
- Weeks 1 to 2: tracking. We make sure calls and forms are tracked, so we have a starting point to measure against.
- Weeks 2 to 3: the plan. We map keywords to pages and list the work in order of likely impact on leads. You approve it before we start.
- Month 1: technical fixes. Indexing, speed, redirects and broken pages come first, because new content won’t help on a broken site.
- Month 2: core pages. We improve or rebuild your main service pages and fix titles, headings and internal links.
- Month 2 onward: local and links. Profile work, listings cleanup and link outreach start.
- Month 3: review. We compare calls, forms and search visibility with the starting point, drop what isn’t working, and set the plan for the next quarter.
Google’s own guide says some changes take effect in a few hours and others take several months, so treat month 3 as a checkpoint, not the finish line.

Browse all industriesHow do we report results?
Every report leads with the numbers that pay your bills: calls and form leads from organic search. Then it shows rankings, traffic and the work we did.
Each report includes:
- Calls and form submissions from search, tracked back to the page and, where possible, the search that drove them.
- Booked jobs or sales, if you share which leads became customers.
- Search Console impressions and clicks for the searches that matter to you.
- A plain list of what we shipped, and what’s next.
What you won’t see is a wall of rankings for searches nobody makes, or traffic charts with no link to leads. If a month’s work didn’t move calls or forms, the report says so and explains what we will change. That honesty is the point of reporting: you should be able to decide, every month, whether the work is worth paying for.

Common questions about Search engine optimization
How much do SEO services cost for a small business?
We recommend a monthly plan after a free audit and tell you the price before you start. For market ranges, see our SEO pricing guide.
How long until SEO works?
You should see work shipped from the first month, but results in search usually take a few months. Google says some changes take effect in a few hours and others take several months. Technical fixes on a broken site can help sooner. Competitive terms in big US cities take longer, and we tell you what to expect after the audit.
Do you require a long contract?
No. Month to month, 30 day notice. We recommend 3 months for SEO, but you can leave any month.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
No. Google says no one can guarantee a number one ranking, and it warns business owners to be wary of anyone who does. We commit to the work, a written plan and honest reporting on calls and forms.
